Some of you know the history of this van
2L AC STRAIGHT as they come panel van with some VERY UNUSUAL extra bits of kit added by the origional owner.
This van was purchaced localy by the origional owner from an indipendant VW dealer ,and the EXTRAS added almost straight away,and it spent most of its early life as a mobile workshop for Auto Electric's Father and son buisness as there emergency/ roadside asistance van ! after 5-6 years use there accountant advised it was uneconomical as a buisness van and it was seldom used for that reason although the old man still had it taxed and MOT every year it hardley did any mileage and i was told the son used it for 1-2 years and put about 10.000 miles on it . IT has a genuine 37,000 miles on it Shocked
It Has been enthusiasticly serviced every year and this shows in the engines performance it starts on the 1 turn and settles to the familiar tick over ,performs and drives as u would expect ,like new !
the pannels are as straight as you would get in un abused panel van NO DINKS or dips or scraches as u can see from the photos ,the drivers door must have had a small scrape as i can see an unmatched patch of paint by the door handel and was told it had a small dink years back , the front is as new the seats 1 drivers and a double bench pasenger are unmarked ,as are the mats , there are a few scratches on the dash where magnets were used to hold paperwork i think .
the rear of thevan was mostly boardedout inc the floor ,so underneath its perfect , the "EXTRAS " fitted to the van are ... a twin auxilary battry systemn alowing either or both to be charged from the altanator /used for 12 v power for jumpstarting ,aux lighting etc , there are 2x auxilary strip lights in the rear ,a fixed ally ahelving unit a rear engine bed ply bulkhead with various fixings/brackets to hold hand tools , a slide out bench vice !! and a power inverter ,giveing the ability to either , charge both battrys or power large 240v powertools !!Shocked or flick a switch and use the powerfull ARC welder !!Shocked
I have had the van Hand Sighnwritten at HAYWOOD CUSTOMS in a style i think suites the van , i would like to lower it a little more and fit some multispoke alloys to it to finnish the look of one very cool van .Personaly i think this is one of the straightest pannel van's in the uk and has some truely 1 off additions ,it would make an amazing work / promo/parts hauler for someone ,i can also see it as a fantastic one off camper if done right !?
it will need 4 new tyres as the origionals are still on it and have some crackage on the walls haveing stood so long , i rear ended a french filth car some months ago so had it pro repaired and the front lower pannel has been replaced and re-sprayed but it was only light pannel damage !
i am going to fit a new clutch and replace the gb oil seal as i think this is the cause of a little bit of slippage oil contaminating the clutch , although there are NO oil leaks from the engine /pushrod tubes !!
I am Open to sensible offers around £5500 or will throw in a brand new set of pro built 40 dells set up and flowed and jetted for the 2ltr, with brand new cps linkage and filters and manifolds for a bolt on twin carb conversion ,giveing better performance and better economy ! for £6000 ovno
